If you are looking for a great posture brace, then this article is for you!
Poor posture is regrettably a common problem due to our modern lifestyles.
Don’t get me wrong, I really like my modern lifestyle. But one of the issues with it is the many hours we spend each day sitting down.
Perhaps you are sitting down as you are reading this? Are you slouching?
Unless you are being very mindful of your posture, my guess is that the answer is yes…
Too much slouching and you end up with rounded shoulders and/or a forward-leaning head.
Fixing this does require time and effort and this is where getting a posture brace might be a good idea since it can help.

Otherwise, I would encourage to scroll down and take a look below as I am confident you will find some helpful information.
Summarising Comparison Table
Key Differences Between The Braces
I would say that the braces on the top more or less can be divided into two different types.
The first type is what I would call a “vest-type” brace.
These braces are bulkier and feel like wearing a vest. They will help you align and support your whole upper-body including spine, waist and lower back.
The vest-type brace can work well to improve your posture, but the downside is they are bigger and more visual.
The second type is the simple shoulder braces or 8 figure clavicle braces
This kind of brace will improve the position of your shoulders and upper back. They are a good solution if you just need help to train yourself to maintain a correct shoulder position.
They are usually are usually cheap, but more people have issues the comfortableness and fitting of these braces compared to the vest-type brace.
Both types of braces will work to improve your posture, but the simple shoulder braces or 8 figure clavicle braces doesn’t have the same support as the vest type brace.
In some situations this is not an issue, however often poor posture can among others be contributed to weak muscles in the mid back.
Back Brace Posture Corrector By Flexguard Support
Flexguard Support most popular product is the “Back Brace Posture Corrector” which offers a full upper-body posture support.
This is a great solution if you need support for the whole back. It is also great if you are not completely sure of where the issue with your posture is.
The product has great feedback on Amazon and is in my opinion clearly among the very best sold there.
It has a strong and comfortable build while only being bit bulky and also less restrictive, unlike other vest-type braces.
The only reason why it should not be the best choice for you would be if a small shoulder brace is enough.
Product Features
Durable, adjustable and comfortable
The brace is equipped with adjustable cushioned straps for extra comfortableness The waistband is also adjustable.
It has a tight fit when strapped in, but is still comfortable due to its padding.
Breathable Material
I have not been able to confirm what exactly the brace is made of, but it seems to be of a synthetic fabric similar to the other braces. Probably at least some parts of it is made of neoprene rubber.
Lifetime Warranty
Flexguard Support offers a lifetime warranty on the back brace.
Updated Sizes
As of April 2018, the posture brace sizes have been updated for a better fit for more back, shoulder, and collarbone support

While The brace is adjustable it is very important you get a right fit. Refer to the size guide on Amazon.
In the beginning, it is recommended to wear it only 30-60 minutes at a time and slowly increase the duration as it becomes more comfortable.
According to the company wearing the brace over a week or two for just a few hours a day should significantly improve your posture.
The brace can be washed in the washing machine with cold water and gentle rotation. However, the company recommends washing in hand to ensure the brace retains its full functionality.
Hang it up to air dry, do not use a tumble dryer.

Are Posture Braces Really Helpful?
Improving your posture is often a long process. Essentially, you have to undo a process that has been going on for a long time.
You didn’t get your poor posture overnight, and similarly, you won’t be able to reverse overnight.
What you more or less need to do is to stretch tight muscles and to strengthen underdeveloped muscles. This takes time.
Additionally, you need to become more aware of what good posture is when you are sitting and you need to train yourself to maintain that posture.
Wearing a posture brace properly can make it easier and probably assist you in training the right muscles.
A posture might even provide some degree of immediate relief if you are experiencing uncomfortableness or even pain.
However, you don’t want to wear a posture brace for too long at a time, as this can potentially make things worse.
The problem is that when wearing a posture brace the brace is doing most of the work to keep your upper body upright and not your muscles.
There is an alternative to posture braces that do not have this issue, but these products come at a higher price.

How Do Posture Braces Work?
Posture braces work by simply making it harder or even impossible for you to slouch or have a poor posture.
In other words, wearing the brace forces your muscles and joints to be in a position that encourages good posture.
This can reduce excess stress on joints and spine which is a result of having poor posture. High stress on joints and spin can eventually lead to pain.
Wearing the brace can make you look and feel better. It might even make you stand a bit taller.
I am a short guy myself, so I know that even a tiny bit of extra height can go a long way.
Conclusion
Posture braces can be a helpful tool for improving posture. For a more all-inclusive upper-body posture correction, I would recommend the brace by Flexguard Support.
However, I have to say that a posture brace is not going to fix all your problems.
You can’t rely on only the brace as “real work” needs to be done.
You will have to 1) stretch and strengthen your muscles, 2) reflect and if necessary improve upon the ergonomics of your surroundings, and 3) improve postural awareness.
